Greetings,
I am Hongkyun Kim, President
of the Korea Environment Institute (KEI).
Thank you for visiting us.

The Korea Environment Institute (KEI) was founded in 1993 with the mission of ‘contributing to the prevention and resolution of environmental issues.’ From an era of development and growth to today’s pursuit of a green transition, KEI has remained at the forefront of environmental policy research and impact assessments.
We are living in an era where our environment is more fragile than ever, leaving us with no room to retreat. The climate crisis is affecting our daily lives. An abundance of environmental information is available, yet distinguishing accurate and reliable data remains a challenge. Environmental conflicts are arising across society and growing more complex.
KEI conducts research and assessments across various fields, including climate change, resource circulation, water environment, land and environmental planning, environmental impact assessments, environmental health, environmental information, and global environmental cooperation. Through these efforts, we enhance communication and research to identify challenges and develop effective solutions. With expertise, objectivity, reliability, and fairness, KEI will be your trusted partner.
Thank you.
