Ⅰ. Preface
1. Research Background and Objectives
o Center for Environmental Information of North Korea, established in 2019 by the Korea Environmental Institute, commenced the project ‘A Study on the Environmental Status in North Korea and the Development of Inter-Korean Environmental Cooperation’ from the year 2020.
ㅇAim of this project is to systematically establish information related to North Korea’s environmental conditions and to identify strategies and projects for the future implementation of Green Dotente Initiative between North and South Korea.

2. Research Content and Implementation System
o This project is conducted in three main areas:
ㅇIn the ‘Inter-Korean Environmental Cooperation Investigation and Project Development’ area, a total of five reports book, including a general and comprehensive report summarizing the key content of the overall research, and fourth Research Report book, published.
ㅇIn the ‘Survey of North Korean Environmental Status and Construction of Environmental Information’ area, it carried out data collection and organization based on three projects conducted in the research field, and published titled ’Trends in Environmental Information of North Korea’.
ㅇIn the ‘Operation of a Network for building Ecological system and Sharing Achievements in Environmental Reseach of North Korea’ area, it held both domestic and international academic conferences and symposiums (5 times), KEI Inter-Korean Environmental Forums (4 times) respectively, and published titled ‘KEI North Korean Environmental Review (2 times per year)’.
