1. Research background and objective
o There is a transition from the existing green MICE to sustainable MICE.
ㅇ MICE refers to Meetings, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition, and Events.
ㅇ The MICE industry is a high value-added industry with high economic and social benefits, which is a new growth engine, but it is also pointed out as a source of environmental pollution.
ㅇ Green conventions that focus on solving environmental problems are evolving into sustainable MICE.
-Achieving sustainable development in environmental, social, and economic aspects through efficient resource management and stakeholder participation.
o Public institutions can play various roles in organizing zero-waste events.
ㅇ Public institutions are expected to act as demanders for the establishment of industries and infrastructures related to the promotion of zero-waste events, thereby driving the expansion of the base of related industries.
ㅇIt can provide citizens with zero-waste experiences and foster a widespread consensus among citizens.
ㅇThey are playing a leading role in reducing the use of disposable products through the enactment of measures such as the “Practice Guidelines for Reducing the Use of Disposable Products in Public Institutions.”
