Approaches to Adult Environmental Education for Promoting Green Consumption: A Perspective Based on Environmental Awareness Types
Ⅰ. Introduction
1. Research purpose
oOf the 110 national projects of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, the “Realization of the circular economy through recycling” is an area where the role of all members of society is important.
ㅇCurrently, the public awareness of green products is low and practice is lacking, and specific strategies are needed to activate green consumption.
-Although the waste problem is widely recognized in relation to resource circulation, there is a phenomenon where the practice of green consumption, which should be left to the voluntary will of individuals, appears to be low, and efforts are required to increase the awareness and practice of green consumption through education and communication.

2. Research scope
oTo maximize the effectiveness of adult environmental education, customized education that considers the differences between groups with various levels of environmental awareness is necessary.
ㅇYum et al. (2021) identified five clusters by categorizing groups of citizens according to their level of environmental literacy.
-While some groups match the level of environmental knowledge and behavior, others tend to match environmental affect.
- In other words, lack of behavior does not necessarily result from citizens being unaware of environmental information; rather, the lack of environmental affect is the issue.
