Ⅰ. Background and Aims of Research
1. Background
o ESG factors are corporate, financial, and activity/business sustainability standard
ㅇ Initially, ESG factors have been a key factor to be considered for responsible investing or ESG investing, but they are now more used as metrics to assess various “sustainability” aspects of sustainable finance.
- A careful selection of disclosure standards and metrics is important when elaborating ESG factors not only because it may exert an heavy influence to the direction of activities, businesses, entities and finance but also because such influence is important to national sustaianble development policy.
o National ESG advancement goal in Korea
ㅇ As ESG factors are expanding its area of influence and importance, management of ESG factors at the national level is an essential component of sustainable development policy.

2. Necessity and objective
o Necessity
ㅇ In recent years, many countries, including the EU, have stepped in to create an institutional framework for sustainable finance, and Korean government is considering a range of measures to provide the institutional elements essential for sustainable finance to work effectively.
ㅇ There is a need for a domestic ESG enhancement policy that maximizes the various benefits that can be obtained by considering ESG factors in sustainable development.

o Objective
ㅇ This study aims to design a framework that can be the basis to make sustainable finance-related systems that are compatible with sustainable development while focusing on domestic ESG disclosure, finance, and corporate ES
