Ⅰ. Introduction
oWhile the first-year research(2022) identified directions for sustainable transition in communities, this year’s(2023) research involved in-depth field studies on actual cases(practices) of sustainable transition being implemented in communities, both domestically and internationally.
oBy integrating the outcomes of the first-year research with the results of this year’s field studies, we aim to achieve the following research objectives:
ㅇFirst, identify key successful strategies for sustainable transition in communities.
ㅇ Second, identify alternatives for our society in the post-COVID-19 era.
ㅇThird, propose collaborative governance for the dissemination of transition activities.

Ⅱ. Field Study Subjects and the Criteria for Their Selection
o Criteria for selecting field study subjects
ㅇ Selection was based on the following four criteria:
- The concept of sustainable transition was considered.
- The 16 directions of sustainable transition in communities after the COVID-19 pandemic, established in the first year’s research, were taken into account.
- The spatial dimensions of urban and rural areas were considered.
- Cases that have accumulated enough related activities for conducting and analyzing the study were selected.
