Analysis System for Regional Environmental Status to Support Environmental Assessment : Status of Development Projects and Advancement of EA-INDEX(Focusing on Tourist Complex, Waste Disposal Facilities)
Ⅰ. Background and Aims of Research
oEnvironmental impact assessment techniques and methods are continuously being studied and developed to minimize the environmental impact caused by the development of tourism complexes and waste disposal facilities. However, as most studies are carried out focusing on individual projects, the analysis and review of the overall environmental impact of the development of these projects across the country is insufficient.

oAlthough the impact of development projects on the environment is diverse, quantitative information that can be used in estimating the size or level of the impact is insufficient. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare indicators to measure eco-friendliness of development projects.

Ⅱ. Method and Scope
oThis study investigated the status of consultations by year and region of the tourism complexes and waste disposal facilities registered in the Environmental Impact Assessment Support System from 2012 to 2021. We studied the development status by each self-governing province, status of forest area and vegetation conservation grade of the project sites before development, status of distribution of steep slopes (slope of more than 20 degrees), distance from major topographic axes, and major natural landscape resources, pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions.

oBased on the results of the current status analysis of the development projects, each EA-INDEX for the tourism complex and waste disposal facility development projects was developed and applied. Through this, we quantitatively investigated eco-friendliness of the develo
