Setting the Direction for Environmental Policy Based on the Analysis of Environmental Factors Related to Pandemics
Ⅰ. Research Background and Purpose
o Background and significance
ㅇThe COVID-19 pandemic is expected to cause a wide range of social and environmental impacts in sectors such as health, energy, and waste along with the global economic crisis, and systems to respond to such paradigm shifts are required.
ㅇFor this, it is essential to study the interrelationship between environmental factors such as climate change and socioeconomic factors with outbreaks of pandemic diseases and related changes.

o Research purpose
ㅇ The purpose of this study is to identify environmental factors that can cause the outbreak and spread of a pandemic, analyze the impact by environmental field, and ultimately suggest a plan to build a system for responding to a pandemic which can aid in framing relevant policies.
-This study will be carried out for a total of three years. In the first year, the research focused on environmental factors that can cause and spread pandemics and examined and analyzed the environmental fields affected by a pandemic.
-In the second and third years, we plan to further analyze environmental factors and their effects in each phase of the pandemic including pre- and post-pandemic (‘Living with COVID-19’) period. Based on this, we aim to build a foundation for preparing environmental response systems and policy plans in the event of a pandemic in the future.

Ⅱ. Analysis of Environmental Factors Associated with the Outbreak and Spread of a Pandemic
o Analysis of the current status of environmental factors in the outbreak and spread of the pandemic
