KEI-NIES(Nanjing Institute of Environmental Sciences) MoU

KEI and NIES (Nanjing Institute of Environmental Sciences) of the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on May 17, 2016 at NIES, Nanjing, China. The two institutes have pledged to enhance cooperative working relationship and work together to contribute to mutually beneficial cooperation in the environmental research field.

KEI and NIES will exchange information, reports and policy paper; undertake joint research on areas of mutual interests; plan and organize regular or non-regular joint conferences, seminars, expert group meetings and capacity building workshops; and exchange personnel in the fields of mutual interests.

After the MoU signing ceremony, a joint workshop was held and NIES researchers delivered presentations on the main research projects and achievements of NIES and the Institute’s research on natural conservation, biodiversity and soil pollution management. KEI on its part introduced KEI’s main research projects and achievements on research related to China, suggested a plan for cooperation between KEI and NIES and gave a presentation on the accomplishments and future direction of the two countries’ bilateral environmental cooperation.
