BACKGROUND
l The National Adaptation Plan (NAP)
process was established under the Cancun Adaptation Framework (CAF). With the
growing negative impact of climate change, many countries are highlighting the
importance of NAP as a means of identifying medium and long term adaptation
needs and developing and implementing strategies and programmes to address
those needs.
l United Nations Environment Program
(UNEP)and Korea Adaptation Center for Climate Change (KACCC) at Korea Environment
Institute (KEI) open an arena for discussion on what lessons have been learned
from the past experiences, and what the way forward is.
III. Objective
l The objective of this seminar is to
share countries’ experiences on the NAP and to improve their strategies and
programmes that address their adaptation needs. This seminar will provide an
overview of practical knowledge and experiences on monitoring and evaluation of
the NAP.
IV.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
l Up-to-date strategies for monitoring
and evaluation of the National Adaptation Plan;
l Primary outcomes of the National
Adaptation Plan; and
