The 4th KEI-SEAM International Workshop on
EIA was held in Asuncion, Paraguay on Nov 1-2, 2016 as follow-up to the
3rd workshop held between KEI and the Paraguayan environmental ministry (SEAM)
on April, 2016 at KEI.
After
the two-day workshop, a field trip to Lake Ypacarai was arranged to investigate
the current condition of the lake suffering from serious degradation and assist
Paraguayan MOPC (Ministry of Public Works and Communications) in formulating a master plan for
enhancing the lake’s water quality.
The
parties agreed to cooperate in building EIA database and formulating a master
plan for treating the waste of Asuncion and policies for improving the water
quality of Lake Ypacarai.
