- Date: Mar. 23 - 24, 2016

- Place: Seoul, Korea

An International Workshop on Integrated Modeling was held from Mar. 23 - 24, 2016 in Seoul, Korea. In Session 1, Top-down approach to Global Integrated Assessment Modeling: A standard approach using GTAP-based global CGE, GTAP database, the history, development and structure of GTAP DB, standard GTAP model, and characteristics of the GTAP CGE model were discussed.

In Session 2, National Energy Modeling System (NEMS) and Top-down / Bottom-up Integration, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) was introduced, followed by presentation on brief introduction, algorithm, search and module issues of NEMS.

In Session 3, Top-down / Bottom-up Integration with AIM model, the AIM (Asia-Pacific Integrated Model) was introduced. Japan’s GHG reduction target and modeling analyses of the world and Japan were also discussed.

In Session 4, Top-down approach to global integrated assessment modeling: A standard approach using GTAP-based global CGE, the joint OECD-IEA modeling project and IEA’s 2012-2013 Efficiency World Scenario (EWS) were presented.

In Session 5, Integration of Top-down and Bottom-up GHG Model, KEI’s chief research fellow Yong Gun Kim explained how a project on integrating the top-down and bottom-up GHG models is being carried out jointly by the KEI, KAIST, Kyungsung University, Seoul National University and Kwangwoon University.

In Session 6, KEI’s senior research fellow Sung Won Kang presented the KEI-SNU hybrid model being developed to analyze Korea’s agricultural sector.
