The KEI and Vietnam’s DISED (Da Nang Institute for Socio-Economic Development)
held the “2015 KEI·DISED International Workshop on EIA” for two days between Dec. 3 and Dec. 4, 2015 at Novotel Danang,
Premier in Danang, Vietnam.
- In the workshop, theme including EIA
System and Public Consultation (Dr. Kongjang Cho (KEI)), Environmental
Protection Law and EIA Regulations in Vietnam (Dr. Dang Quang Vinh (Director of
Da Nang DOEP)), EIA in Road Construction Projects (Dr. Joon Gyu Choi (KEI)), EIA
in Hydro-power Plant Construction in Viet Nam (Dr. Quach Thi Xuan (DISED)), EIA
in Water Quality (Dr. Sangki Choi (KEI)), Korean Waste Management in EIA (Dr.
Hi-Sun Lee (KEI)) and EIA in Hydro-electric dam construction in KOREA (Mr.
Jongho Kim (Korea Engineering Consultants Corp.)) were discussed.
- The workshop was held for networking and
knowledge-sharing of the two institutes in order to enhance mutual
understanding. As opposed to the previous workshops held with central
governments or environment ministries, the exchange with a research institute
under a local government holds significant from the perspective of seeking
cooperation with local governments.
