- The Green Korea 2015 International Conference jointly hosted by the KEI and PAGE (Partnership for Action on Green Economy) was held for two days on Nov. 24 and 25, 2015 at El Tower in Seoul, Korea under the title, The Sustainble Development Goals and the Green Economy. Opening remarks were delivered by President Kwang Kook Park of the KEI and Sheng Fulai, the Head of Economic Research Unit at UNEP, followed by the congratulatory remark of Dae-yeong Ju, Director General of the International Cooperation Bureau of the South Korean Ministry of Environment and the keynote speech of Soo-gil Yang, the president of Korea Sustainable Development Solutions Network (KSDS).
- On November 24, themes including Green Economy and 2030 Development Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of South Korea, China and Japan and regional cooperation in East Asia towards green economy, energy-centered policy for green economy in South Korea, carbon free island strategy, NEGAWATT and global cooperation platform for green technology were discussed.
- On the following day, experiences of implementing green economy and SDGs in China, Mauritius, Mongolia and Peru were shared, led by an in-depth discussion of around 30 policy decision-makers and experts on strengthening the network among institutes working towards green economy and sustainable development.
