The Korea Environment Institute (KEI) is delighted to present the second volume of “Global Environmental Issues,” our English periodical dedicated to addressing global agendas.

This volume focuses on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) and the Stockholm Convention, an international environmental treaty aimed at safeguarding human health and the environment from the effects of POPs. It delves into recent trends in the Convention and their implications for South Korea’s national policy, outlines the current state of POPs management in South Korea and presents relevant plans and strategies. Additionally, it introduces the POPs Review Committee and details the chemical review process.
