Korea Environment Institute with Korea Wind Energy Industry Association, Danish Energy Agency and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark jointly held the 1st Global Dialogue for Offshore Wind last September in Seoul, Korea. It was the kick-off of the many Offshore Wind Dialogue series KEI planned throughout the year*.
* Further scheduled dialogues are with Japan(TBD), Taiwan(October, 2022), and US in May, 2023.
The Dialogue was to form a consensus on the preparation of the One-Stop-Shop law for the revitalization of offshore wind power in Korea.
Through the government-to-government cooperation with the Korea Energy Agency, the Danish Energy Agency shares experiences on how to create a cost efficient regulatory framework for offshore wind. The new Korean Offshore Wind Collaboration Plan includes the creation of a Korean modified One-stop-shop for the tender process of offshore wind projects, inspired by the Danish One-stop-shop concept.
At the Dialogue, Chang Hoon Lee, president of KEI and Einar H. Jensen, Danish Ambassador to Republic of Korea, gave opening remarks followed by the presentations from CHO Kongjang , a Senior Research Fellow at KEI. His presentation was on Issues in Promoting the Enactment of the Special Act on Offshore Wind Power in Korea.
