KEI, with the OECD will be organizing a side event focusing on climate change adaptation during COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Monday 14 November

9.30  - 11. 30 (GMT+2), Korean Pavilion

Measuring progress in implementing national adaptation policies

Countries are making adaptation to climate change a national priority, as illustrated by the wide adoption of national adaptation strategies (NAS) or plans (NAPs). Understanding and measuring progress in implementing those is critical to understand how adaptation actions actually contribute to strengthening climate resilience, and whether they do so effectively.

Organised by the Korea Environment Institute (KEI) and the OECD, the event will bring together representatives from national governments from Korea, Chile and the United Kingdom to discuss challenges and achievements in measuring progress and how different actors engage in adaptation measurement.

The discussion will benefit from an ongoing OECD stream of work that seeks to support countries in strengthening their adaptation measurement frameworks and improve data and indicators used to measure the effectiveness of climate change adaptation policies and actions.
