Ⅰ. Background and Aims of Research
o Industrial complexes have been playing an important role in various aspects such as national industrial development and economic growth. However, since they are a cluster of manufacturing facilities, they have a great impact on the surrounding area and the overall domestic environment during the operation of facilities.
o In this study, various environmental and social influences were investigated based on the environmental impact assessment report for industrial complex development projects. Through these results, the current status of domestic industrial complex development projects was examined and a sustainable development plan was suggested.
Ⅱ. Method and Scope
o From January 2009 to December 2019, a total of 530 industrial complex development projects registered and consulted on the EIASS were surveyed for investigation of the current status and contents of consultations by year and region.
ㅇ We analyzed the development status of industrial complexes by each self-governing province, and the vegetation conservation grade before development was studied. Furthermore, information on their emission amounts of air pollutant such as PM10, PM2.5, NO2, SO2, and NH3 was collected.
ㅇ The location trend of the industrial complex was identified through a calculation of the distribution status of the facilities with the potential environmental impact within the residential areas
