Planning and operation of support programs for the implementation of the convention on biological diversity(Ⅵ)
Ⅰ. Introduction
o The target achievement rate of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011 -2020 was 9.4% as of 2019 and it is time for paradigm shifts in policy, science, and technology for the advanced implementation of this plan.
o It is necessary to prepare and implement follow-up measures continuously to share and spread our achievements in regard to biodiversity as a party to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), a host country of CBD Conference of Parties (COP), and an advanced Asian country.
o Therefore, we planed and operated the following programs to promote the implementation of CBD and sustainable development based on biodiversity; ① the analysis and response program on the global biodiversity agenda, ② the financial analysis program for biodiversity, ③ the biodiversity science and technology cooperation program, and ④ the biodiversity policy development platform program.

Ⅱ. Trend of International Discussions on CBD and Its Implications
o Because of the global COVID-19 pandemic, only the First and Second Open-ended Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework and the Special Virtual Session for SABSSTA-24 and SBI-3 were held this year.
o At the First Open-ended Working Group on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, comprehensive discussions on the topics such as the structure and components of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework were conducted and the ‘Zero Draft’ of this framework was prepared.
