Direction for the mid- and long-term development for expanding renewable energy and responding to future environmental changes : current state and future plans for effective development of floating photovoltaic plants
Ⅰ. Background and Aims of Research
ㅇ Although the new renewable energy expansion policy is in effect, controversy in terms of social and environmental aspects has emerged and differences in regional acceptability have led to difficulties in implementing the policy efficiently.
ㅇ As a paradigm for sustainable development, solar energy businesses at domestic and abroad are growing rapidly, but they are in urgent need of finding solutions due to different positions on location selection and environmental impact.
ㅇ In particular, it is imperative to seek alternatives to sustainable renewable energy policies as they are urgently needed to convert renewable energy such as solar and wind power to solve the problems of nuclear power and fossil fuels that cause fine dust and global warming, but there are various opinions on whether or not they are in areas with excellent environment, such as mountainous district, and if they are located in areas with excellent environment, they can cause so-called “green conflicts.”
ㅇ In this regard, floating photovoltaic power generation is an alternative to environmental problems of land-based photovoltaic power generation facilities, and it is necessary to shed light on the floating photovoltaic power generation project as a new and renewable power generation project worth being promoted for sustainable use.

ㅇ However, uncertainties still exist in the environmental impact and safety of long-term use of floating photovoltaic power generation facilities, and continuous monitoring and analysis of appropriate scale design and location adequacy, secu
