KEI-SEAM(Paraguay Environment Ministry) MoU

On April 8, 2015, the KEI and SEAM(Secretaria del AMBIENTE, Paraguay Environment Ministry) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperative working relationship between the KEI and SEAM. The two institutes agreed to cooperate by exchanging information, reports and policy papers, undertaking joint research on areas of mutual interests and jointly planning and organizing international conferences, seminars, expert group meetings and capacity building workshops and exchanging research personnel in the fields of mutual interests.
Afterwards, the KEI and SEAM held two workshops - one in April 2015 at the KEI and the second one in Asuncion, Paraguay in November 2015. In the first workshop, the parties exchanged information in the areas of air quality, waste and waste water management and visited EIA related sites and environmental facilities in South Korea. In November, they discussed Paraguay's EIA profile report and planned regular KEI-SEAM workshop for knowledge sharing, sought multi-party collaboration between South Korea and Paraguay; and decided on next joint research topics including a study on air quality improvement of Lago Ypacarai.
