ISSN 2671-9274 Vol.8 No.2 / february 28 2020 Research Briefs KEI an analysis on the transboundary movements of wastes and their effect on korea writing. munsol ju, sang cheol shin, dong zhan feng, min ji kwon, min gi chae since january 2018, 'national sword' pol-icy of china, which contains strict restric-tions on the import of plastic waste, has been implemented and it made huge impacts on plastic recycling systems on a worldwide level. this research was conducted to analyze the global plastic waste flow changes and to investi-gate the reponses in major imports has increased and korea has changed from a net exporter in 2017 to a net importer in 2018. as a reponse to the change of global circumstances on plastic recycling, we suggested following strategies: 1)developing a third export market that has the proper handling capability, 2)reduction of foreign materials content in col-lected plastic waste, 3)securing the stable capacity for the treatment of plastic waste including residues from recy-cling processing, 4)preventing plastic waste generation, and 5)hazards management in plastic recycling process. keywords :plastic waste :transboundary movement :recycling :waste paper :var 01 kei research briefs
