The Korea Environment Institute (KEI) participated in the 26th Annual Conference on Global Economic Analysis hosted by the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) from June 14 to 17 at the University of Bordeaux, France. Dr. Yong-Gun Kim, Director General of the Climate and Air Quality Research Group, along with Dr. Hyungwoo Lim, and Dr. Jongwoo Moon, attended the event to track the latest research trends and newly introduced techniques in the area of computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling and integrated assessment modeling (IAM).
On June 14, Dr. Hyungwoo Lim made a presentation titled “Decarbonizing Road Transportation in Korea: A Policy Analysis Using an Integrated Computable General Equilibrium Model” during Session 12: Transportation and Infrastructure. The following day, Dr. Jongwoo Moon presented on “The Economic Impacts of Low-carbon Transition in Asia: NDC and Net Zero Transition with International Carbon Market in Asia” during Session 24: Climate Change Policy (Asia). Lastly, on the last day of the three-day conference, Dr. Yong-Gun Kim presented on “Evaluation of Climate Impacts Using a Global Multi-regional Computable General Equilibrium Model Combined with Regional and Sector-specific Damage Functions” during Session 53: Climate Modeling. During the follow-up discussions, proposals were made to promote diverse collaborative research projects.
