With the recognition
that domestic actions alone are not enough to fully address environmental
concerns, the Korea Environment Institute (KEI) is hosting KEI Green Korea 2016
as a side event of the Global Green Growth Week to discuss on the potential
negative effects on the well-being of nature and human from the increasing
global economic development and industrial activities. It is in the interest of
KEI to achieve the mutual goal of protecting nature and human through
transforming the development processes for our coexistence.
In doing so, global partnership and cooperation can play a critical role in facilitating actions and outreach for the transformative process to an inclusive and sustainable green growth. KEI’s Green Korea 2016 - Global Partnership for Actions on Nature and Human, Development and Coexistence will discuss on the key challenges and opportunities of international cooperation for inclusive and sustainable green growth at global and regional levels. Panel discussion session will aim to provide insights on directions to accelerate international cooperation efforts on green growth from diverse dimensions and perspectives. In follow-up to the panel discussion, a presentation session will showcase Korea’s best practices on green growth with particular emphasis on the four priorities of GGGW 2016.
