[Sejong, January 18th] - Today, the Presidential Commission on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth announced the establishment of 15 special committees.

The Presidential Commission on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth is a commission established by the President of the Republic of Korea to study and develop recommendations for achieving carbon neutrality and promoting green growth in the country. The commission was created with the goal of reducing emissions from energy production and consumption, and promoting the growth of low-carbon and green industries.
There are four sub-commission of the commission in charge of each of the following missions: greenhouse gas reduction; energy & industry transition; fair transition & climate adaptation; and green growth & international cooperation. Under the sub-commissions, there are 15 special committees mostly filled with newly appointed experts hired from academia. Among these expert members, the following experts were appointed from KEI.

The special committees are established to provide professional and technical expertise and oversight, and to make recommendations as per request from the chairperson of the sub-commissions. Each committee is composed of up to 10 experts, including one chairperson. Experts can be reappointed for a one-year term.
