KEI held its annual Environment Forum on August 31 to address and explore ways to tackle key environmental issues confronting South Korea. Under the theme of “Diagnosis of Environmental Issues” and “Direction for effective implementation of government plans,” KEI research fellows gave presentations on “Korean greenhouse gas emissions trading scheme”, “Indoor air quality (IAQ) Issues and its policy direction for improvement,” “Current status and policy tasks for pyrolysis of plastic waste,” and “Food waste recycling issues.” KEI President Chang Hoon Lee said as part of his welcoming remarks that KEI has planned and conducted Issue Studies in line with the government’s agenda, and KEI will refer to the opinions and thoughts collected through the forum in order to diagnose issues and set directions for the national agenda.
